Alpine Meadows Ski Resort

You can find Alpine Meadows on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe in the National Forest. It covers over 2,400 acres. Every acre has been groomed so that you can ski on every inch of the place. You will be able to enjoy this resort and all it has to offer from the middle of November to late May which is one of the longest skiing and snowboarding seasons in or around Lake Tahoe.

Alpine Meadows has an abundance of rental units that you rent out for as long as you like. You will be able to find custom made houses as well as cabins and condos. There is a rental unit out there for anyone no matter what their tastes. The only thing that Alpine Meadows does not offer at their resort is the ski in/ski out accommodation. They even allow you to rent out the different rentals in their off season at a discount. So if you would rather go mountain biking and hiking through the woods then Alpine Meadows is the place to be.

Alpine Meadows has recently seen a management change so everyone is still getting used to the new operation. Not only did the resort bring in new management, they also just recently bought wind generators to power the whole resort. The resort hosts several events every year and you can expect the service of staff to be exceptional. If you grab something to eat at the resort you can be assured that it will be great. There is definitely a place to bring the whole family. You will be able to find something to do for either a whole weekend, or for a week.

If you are visiting Alpine Meadows for the first time professionals are readily available to teach you how to ski or snowboard. They also have beginner trails for those that are just learning. Alpine Meadows holds three training lessons every day, and they recommended that if you are new to skiing that you take at a class to at least gain some knowledge. They have a great selection of lifts, but some are high speed lifts and not recommended for the novice.

There are also trails for the avid snowboarder along with a half pipe. Alpine Meadows has snowboard rentals along with ski rentals. The prices vary some but the average is about $35 per day. If you consider yourself an experienced skier, you can try the Key Hole which is the hardest and most complex trail at Alpine Meadows. There are also many other trails you can to do that range in difficulty. They have over 100 different trails so if you are having trouble finding the right trail for you, just ask one of the staff and they will be more than helpful in finding the right trail for you to ski on.

At Alpine Meadows there is something for everyone. You will find that even a new skier or children will have a blast staying and skiing at Alpine Meadows.
