Sierra at Tahoe

Sierra at Tahoe is an environmentally conscious ski resort located on 2,000 acres on Echo summit which caters to both a local and tourist clientele. The family-friendly resort offers 46 beautiful scenic trails accessible top most skill levels, including four Adventure Zones which are designed just for children. There are five small, medium and large terrain parks and three miles of snowshoe trails. The South Shore’s only Superpipe is located at the Sierra at Tahoe. The longest run is Sugar n’Spice which is 2.5 miles from the top of the mountain. For the expert skier seeking an extreme skiing experience, Sierra at Tahoe recently opened Huckleberry Gates, 320 acres of double black diamond terrain with cliff drops, cornice drops, rock shuts, open bowls and powdered pillows. Sierra at Tahoe also offers backcountry lessons and free backcountry tours for those who want to see the spectacular terrain at Huckleberry Canyon but have yet to reach the expert skier or expert snowboarder skill level.

The amenities at the Sierra at Tahoe include eight restaurants and six bars at the base camp. The fare ranges from specialty coffees and bagels to comfort foods to Panini and salads to barbeque. The Sierra Pub features different local wineries in its wine tastings and local music. The Smokehouse Grill offers guests 360 degree panoramic vistas. Families with young children can take advantage of the California licensed daycare serving children from 18 months to two years old. Group and private lessons for all ages are available at the snowboard and ski rental shops.

Several South Lake Tahoe hotels offer ski and ride packages in partnership with the Sierra at Tahoe resort. The centrally-located Tahoe Valley Lodge is the closest to the Sierra Resort. There are fireplaces and DVD players in every room and a pool, hot tub and tanning bed on site. The 968 Park Hotel is Lake Tahoe’s newest hotel featuring an ecofriendly stylish rustic design and on site day spa, hot tub and sauna. The Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort is centrally located and offers studios as well as one and two bedroom suites. Their amenities include indoor and outdoor heated pools, a spa and fitness center. The Lakeland Village Beach and Mountain Resort has studio and one to four bedroom suites with fireplaces and kitchens. They have a heated pool, sauna, hot tub and fitness room. Guest at the Lakeland Village and Mountain Resort are invited to enjoy a free continental breakfast which is served daily.
